Become a Trustee

Shape the next chapter of a 60-year partnership with the people of Nepal.

As a BNMT trustee, you will bring strategic judgement and a commitment to social justice, health equity and health sovereignty. You will champion Nepali leadership, help secure lasting support and help Nepal improve the health of all its people.

BNMT UK provides funding, advocacy and strategic support to Birat Nepal Medical Trust (BNMT Nepal), an independent, Nepali-led organisation that leads and delivers programmes in Nepal. As a trustee you will govern BNMT UK and help shape its future.

  • Strategic judgement, integrity and the confidence to challenge constructively.
  • Leadership or decision-making experience, and the ability to listen and work respectfully across cultures.
  • An understanding of trustee oversight, or a willingness to develop it, and time to contribute.

Knowledge of Nepal, the Nepali diaspora or UK charity governance would be valuable. A clinical or global-health background is not required.

We welcome applications from all backgrounds and particularly encourage people from the Nepali diaspora, women, and people from historically oppressed or under-represented communities. We value lived experience and are committed to an accessible appointment process.
