BREAKING the Stigma
BREAKING the Stigma: An Alternative Approach to Cervical Cancer Screening in Nepal
Project BREAKING the stigma aims to explore the feasibility and acceptability of an alternative method to cervical cancer screening – self-sampling for HPV delivered via online /phone based platforms. The project works closely with local partners, local communities to understand their needs, drivers and barriers and develop and test service pathways. It also explores contextual barriers and opportunities to create a feasible and acceptable prototype HPV self-sampling service which addresses current barriers to cervical screening and can be delivered through a sustainable business model.

Butterfly Project
The Butterfly Project improves menstrual health education in Indrawati, Sindhupalchowk by using the Menstrupedia comic alongside the government curriculum. In partnership with Putali Nepal, we deliver expert-led classes for grades 5–7 and assess changes in students’ knowledge, attitudes, and practices.

Improving Sexual Reproductive Health

Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) are vital for a healthy society. People need awareness, care, and accurate information, but in many Nepali communities, open discussion remains limited by conservative traditions — especially for adolescents.

Lead like a Woman
‘Lead like a Woman’ conference aimed to interact with and be inspired by models of female nepali leadership. This conference was an opportunity to hear the personal stories of successful Nepali women and enable the participants to learn more about leadership, overcoming gender and societal barriers and career development. Project Horizon
Advancing SRHR advocacy and support among adolescents and women of Nepal
Project Horizon strengthens adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights in Indrawati Rural Municipality, Sindhupalchowk. Building on work since 2019 and funded by BNMT UK, it improves access to information and services through school and community education, training for teachers and FCHVs, and support for parent–child dialogue - tackling stigma and empowering adolescents.

READ IT
Research, Evidence and Development Initiative
BNMT is Nepal’s partner in the READ-It consortium, which strengthens evidence-based decision making in health. By conducting systematic reviews on national priorities identified with government stakeholders, the project ensures reliable evidence directly informs policy to improve health outcomes.
