On 15th April 2025, our colleagues at BNMT Nepal had the pleasure of welcoming several esteemed guests to their Kathmandu office. Among them was Ms. Anje Clarke from Inkfish, BNMT UK’s key partner and the primary funder of the upcoming TB Shield project, who visited to engage with the team and learn more about the project’s implementation plans.
BNMT Nepal also hosted Dr. Richard Storkenmeir (Nephrologist) and Dr. Carin Storkenmeir (Neurosurgeon) from the German Nepal Help Association, whose visit was facilitated through the Nepal Med Foundation. Their objective was to gain a deeper understanding of BNMT Nepal’s long-standing work in strengthening healthcare across the country.
During the meeting, BNMT Nepal’s Research Manager, Ms. Kritika Dixit, gave a detailed presentation on the organisation’s 60-year journey—highlighting major milestones, flagship projects, and the measurable impact of BNMT’s interventions on public health in Nepal.
Key discussions focused on TB preventive therapy (3HP) and its cost-effectiveness, the use of drones for medical supply delivery to remote areas, and BNMT’s important work in adolescent sexual and reproductive health. Guests shared valuable perspectives on these initiatives and expressed appreciation for BNMT’s innovative, community-based approach to healthcare.
The meeting concluded with a positive exchange of ideas around future collaboration and mutual support, with all parties expressing enthusiasm for exploring new ways to strengthen healthcare delivery and outcomes in Nepal.
